Fruzsi @fruzsinafejer was experiencing wrist pain during her intensive training phase, affecting hand support skills.
The customised Integrated Movement Therapy (IMT) treatment began with a NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) assessment, revealing a proximal–distal imbalance: a facilitated subscapularis, inhibited wrist flexors, and tight wrist extensors.
The shoulder (subscap) was trying to help “hold” for the hand/wrist, while the extensors are clamping down to make up for missing wrist flexor contribution, leading to overload and pain.
By releasing the subscapularis and reactivating the wrist flexors, we restored balanced activation and integrated the joint mobilization into gymnastics-specific hand support drills.
Fruzsi wrist felt a lot better after ❤️🩹 and she was able to resume her full training load with improved wrist stability — just in time for her final preparation phase on the road to Chengdu #TWG2025.
Always proud to support elite athletes in moving pain-free and performing at their best.
